Shire Law Firm is Here to Provide Counseling, Legal Advice and Court Representation
SHIRE LAW FIRM has developed a reputation for providing sound legal advice, addressing your legal needs and providing personal service, based on preparation, legal research and more than three decades in the practice of law. While we have come to advertise the services we provide over the years, we have always relied first on recommendations and referrals by current and former clients to family, friends and co-workers. We take the time to understand your concerns, answer your questions and provide advice and solutions to meet your legal needs, whether they involve the drafting of estate planning documents or contracts, handling a business or real estate transaction, or representing you in Court or before government agencies. We believe that our fees are reasonable and realistic. Primarily, we represent individuals and families and are fully aware of the economic conditions in the Mon Valley and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
The roots of SHIRE LAW FIRM began with Bernard Shire's admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 1951. Mr. Shire practiced with David H. Weiss and Frank P. Ezerski, until the elevation to the Westmoreland County Court of the Honorable David H. Weiss in 1957. The firm continued as Ezerski and Shire until 1964 when Attorney Jack L. Bergstein joined the firm. Upon Frank P. Ezerski's untimely death at age 50 in 1969, the firm of Shire and Bergstein continued. Over the years, the firm was known as Shire, Bergstein and Caruso, and Shire, Bergstein and Galper. In 1987, Mark J. Shire joined the firm as an associate attorney. Over the years, many attorneys were associated with, and trained by the partners, then moving on to successful practices in various areas of the law.
In 1996, Bernard Shire retired from the practice of law. However, he realized that retirement was not as rewarding as the practice of law, and in 1999, Mark J. Shire formed the SHIRE LAW FIRM, practicing with his Father until Bernard Shire's retirement in 2018, having practiced law actively for 64 years. Notwithstanding his retirement, Bernard Shire continues to consult with Mark regularly on a variety of matters.
Located in the Southwestern corner of Westmoreland County, SHIRE LAW FIRM is able to provide legal services to clients in Westmoreland, Washington, and Fayette Counties, as the office is equidistant to the Courthouses in Greensburg, Washington and Uniontown.
